Hello, I'm Joe LaRocca and I'm a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoy competing in local amateur MMA. I began practicing and competing because it looked like fun. I then subsequently discovered that it is just as fun as it appears to be. It's a fantastic way to interact socially due to everyone having a shared interest and pretty much each person I've met along the way has been incredibly nice. I possessed very little natural aptitude when I first began but due to the patience and skill of my coaches I've become much more functionally sound in martial arts than I initially thought myself capable of. I now coach kickboxing and MMA classes at Elite Combative Systems and enjoy the perspective it grants on why the application of certain techniques function the way they do and then relaying said information.
